SPOTLIGHT: MEET THE TEAM
From the 2024-26 MARLI Chair, PDG Sean Sawyer . . .
Whether you and I have spoken since I was nominated as your Mid Atlantic RLI (“MARLI”) Chair in January, or you’re just reading my thoughts here for the first time, please allow me this opportunity to say how honored and humbled I am by your confidence to have me sit at our helm for Rotary years 2024-26. As many of us already know, the value of RLI, particularly among the 14 Districts that comprise our MARLI territory, is immeasurable, and the imagination we can apply to its reach and effectiveness is infinite. Briefly shared, my hope is that during this short time while I chair your Board, we move forward in exploring the potential that our organization possesses, most importantly, in providing to our “customers” a superior product. With that said, I believe that the way we do that is with frequent, unhampered, honest communication. Whether it be between Board members and Faculty, or District Chairs and Regional Coordinators, open conversations are imperative. For now, these comments represent just a few of the initial efforts your Board plans to pursue. Overall, I look forward to serving alongside all of you, while together, we harness our energy and intentions, and as RI President says, “make Rotary (and MARLI) irresistible” !!

Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI)
Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) will strengthen your club and strengthen your life. Rotary provides an opportunity for all of us to provide service to our community and throughout the world. (Service Above Self) With that service comes a learning experience in leadership, team building, planning, marketing, communication, and organization. RLI provides an opportunity to enrich that learning through sharing experiences and ideas with other Rotary members throughout the region.
What to Expect
Whether in-person or virtual events are one day in length with each event com-prising five or six 50-minute sessions. Some virtual offerings might be spread over two-days, with the same number of sessions spread over that time. Only one part can be taken at a time. Therefore it takes three separate events to complete all three parts. Some people complete all three in a couple months while others take a year or more.
